I searched and I got way too many results from all kinds of Kawasakis. I work with this guy who doesn't use his bike much anymore. It is red, with 50,000 kms of riding on dry roads. Never seen rain, never seen gravel, never been dropped and has been stored in a climate controlled garage. He says it is mint. I haven't seen it yet but I offered him $5000 for it. He is still not sure if he wants to sell it. I am 5'11'' and weight 260 lbs. I am looking for a big and powerful touring bike but I can't spend a fortune on a new one, and I wish to get something dependable that will not give me too much trouble in the future. So far I read that it's big, heavy, an aftermarket seat is preferable and eats rear tires too fast.
What do you all think, and who has had experience with this bike and can tell me if I should keep on trying to convince him to sell.
Thanks.

check kkb motorcycle or edmunds motorcycle for bluebook in your area. Sounds high to me.

Remember I am in Canada. 5000 CDN is about 3800 USD.

Certainly fits the bill -- a VN2000 is on my bucket-list, but I have no direct experience other than window-shopping them for some years -- heavy, yes, but relatively low CG as I recall... still among the very torqueiest of the big cruisers even today, so without right hand discipline tires get shredded... in the back of my mind there was an issue with the front sprocket on the first year -- either ratio or unusual wear or something (maybe it was aluminum v. steel -- sorry, can't recall), but I couldn't find it now (maybe just my geriatric memory). Anyway, $3800 USD would certainly get my attention as a buyer...

I've always liked the Vulcans, especially the bigger ones!

Stock seat is great......on any bike you will burn up back tires if you like acceleration
and this bike will accelerate........has governor on 1-3 gears so you can keep control.
I've had many bikes, the 2000 is the one I most regret giving up......others that I'd like to
have back is simply because I'd like to do things to them(no not sick stuff....perverts)
$3800 would be a really good price, If he's hinted he wants to sell then he does, he just wants you to offer more.......probably offered less as trade-in and thinks he shoud get more

This is looking good. I'll keep working at the guy trying to convince him. I might go up with the price if I have to.
Thanks.

He can't part with it. 🙂 So I found a better one and bought it.

Congratulations! Post a pic and let us know what you think about it. Opinions of fellow riders carry more weight when someone else may be looking for a new "used" ride.

The one I found is a bit custom, so far, I am impressed how quick this heavy bike is. With my hefty 260 pounds on it, when I twist the throttle, it just pulls like a freight train. I am planning a small 1100 mile trip in May, the highway, that is where this big bike really shines.

That is a beautiful bike. Liked the Vulcans for a long time, but never owned one. Hope you enjoy your trip.

That's a nice looking bike. Aftermarket exhaust, intakes... What else is it hiding? There is a good Vulcan forum that I used to follow when one of my BILs had one. There is a lot of good "Vulcan Specific" info there.
